Sam + Bryn | Space Gallery-Denver | Colorado Wedding Photographer
It’s been a hot minute since I blogged my Colorado weddings and engagement sessions that I’ve photographed and what can I say, I’m a slacker. Okay not a slacker but just doing a lot behind the scenes, but I’m here and I’m ready to show you my amazing couples, so behold…..Sam and Bryn’s beautiful Denver “Urban Winter Wedding” at the Space Gallery. Although it was a beautiful day in Denver, so don’t expect bitter cold and snow at all. But what you can expect is this gorgeous couple whom I love dearly, who had the best sense of humor and were willing to break the chains of tradition.
Bryn and Sam met in Boise, Idaho at the airport, specifically at Gate B21. They recognized each other from junior high and said hello. In an act of fate, Sam’s flight was cancelled and he was transferred to Bryn’s flight. They did not sit together but when they arrived in Salt Lake City they exchanged numbers and Sam asked her out a few days later. Bryn said to me, “It must be mentioned, that we count the day that we met as our anniversary since we just fit together from the beginning .” Talk about fate and meant to be together!
These two are some of the most genuine people I have ever met. When we were discussing where to do couple portraits Bryn said, “We have a lake by our house.” Perfect. But then she said, “But what about maybe doing photos at a Brewery? Sam and I love going to Breweries.” My heart lit up. YES!!!! All the yes! I love this because it speaks true to who they really are. Sure they are out doorys (Sam is close to climbing all the 14’ers of Colorado and they are both rock climbers), but in their down time they are beer loving, card playing fools. So that’s exactly what we did, we headed over to the brewery and captured them, playing cards, Bryn kicking Sam’s ass and them laughing. It was perfect.
After we headed to the Space Gallery for the ceremony and reception. I was immediately in love with the whole situation. The wedding was full of beaming faces, so excited and proud of both Bryn and Sam and everyone could not quit telling me how perfect they were for each other. There were so many tears as everyone expressed the love they had for both of them separately and together. They kept true to their lighthearted loving selves by doing rock paper scissors to see who went first for their vows.
However the best part of the night was their first dance. As they hit the dance floor and started slowly dancing, the song became more and more recognizable. I was like, “No way, is this the song??” I listened and as they tore away from each other, both singing the song and rocking out, It was that song! Carly Simon’s, “You’re So Vain” was playing their first song!
