Boulder Colorado Mountain Top Elopement-Jessica & Graham
Elopements today are so much different than I think they were even 15 year's ago. To me, elopement's used to mean a split second decision to get married with no one around. Now, many times, they are a well thought out day with the intention of the focus being more around the couple, rather than the event its self. Benj Haisch was the first photographer to capture something like this. Just a couple, together, on the top of a mountain who decided that they wanted it to just be them declaring their love. I find it to be such a beautiful, intentional and intimate way of declaring your love for one another.
Jessica and Graham contacted me the month before they wanted to get married. They live in Illinois and decided driving out to Colorado, and getting married on the side of a mountain was perfect for them. We started planning out where this might be. Colorado is not short on epic places to get married. They decided Lost Gulch Overlook would be the perfect place. Although they had never seen it with their own eyes, they trusted my suggestions. We met up the day before their elopement so that we could pick the perfect spot. I LOVE bringing people to new places and watching their face light up at Colorado's unmatched beauty. They were in awe of the outlook and Graham kept exclaiming, "Babe, this is where we are getting married!!!"
And so it was. On an early morning we woke up with the sun and Graham, Jessica and a close friend Mitch, officiated their wedding on the side of a mountain. They said their vows and declared their love and it was such an amazing sweet moment. I think Jessica said it best when she said, "Sometimes the best things in life are the most simple. We chose to elope so our moment could truly be magical and we could focus on the infinite love that we share for each other." This is perfect and so accurately describes the day as it was nothing short of magical. Graham and Jessica were so much fun, full of energy and the perfect combo of silliness and love. I left that day feeling a ton of gratitude that this is what I get to do for a living, capturing all the smiles, love and emotion. I'm incredibly grateful.
Thank you to Graham and Jessica for letting me capture your amazing day. It was absolutely magical!
