Sarah and Randy! Gah! I get so excited every time I think of this sweet couple. Randy chased Sarah for years, not giving up on her, knowing she was the one. Sarah refused him for so long and when Sarah finally gave in, the rest is history. These two are so sweet and kind to each other it makes my heart just burst with happiness. They got married at Valhalla Bijou-Hunt Club out in Bennett, Colorado and I was truly honored to photograph it. It was not my typical venue, but I absolutely loved it. I have a big place in my heart for the Colorado plains and its simple beauty and this place did not let me down. Besides being a hunt club they also train puppies for guide dogs and hunting dogs. I was secretly hoping to fill my Outback with puppies just like Melissa McCarthy in Bridesmaids.
This wedding was not short on was love and laughter. Another fun fact about Sarah and Randy is that Sarah’s sister Millie, is married to Randy’s brother Ethan. They are such a hoot to be with. Laughing, teasing and all the love. Both of their parents just beamed with pride at their brood and with good reason. This wedding was the kind of home town wedding straight out of a Hallmark movie.
In another Hallmark movie moment, Sarah and Randy read letters to each other, held hands while standing back to back before they saw each other. And let me say, we opened up the flood gates of tears. So much love and emotion. I cannot stress enough how amazing and how much I believe in first looks. There are so few moments you get to spend with your future spouse and seeing each other for the first time is so emotional. It’s so great that the couple get that moment, by themselves to just be. It’s truly the most magical part of the entire wedding. Sara and Randy’s was proof of how great it can truly be.
Sarah’s Dad drove up her up to the aisle in a 54’ Chevy Bel Air. This car had been in the family for 4 generations. As a family, they would drive to church every single Sunday in that car and it means the world to her that she was able to arrive to the ceremony in that car driven by her father.
As the sun set, and the people were laughing and dancing, we made it over to the puppies and Sarah and Randy were surrounded by 6 gorgeous golden and black lab puppies that were being trained as guide dogs and donated to disabled vets. It was such a perfect way to end the day and watch these two being wildly in love with a pile of puppies. Thank you to Sarah and Randy for letting me laugh, cry and capture your perfect day! Cheers!
